Carolyn Wright embodies the Real Organic Project’s mission to honor farmers, the environment, and the essential connections built through good food and good stewardship.

Carolyn Wright is a passionate advocate for sustainable agriculture and community connection, serving as the Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Real Organic Project—a farmer-led movement dedicated to upholding the true spirit of organic farming. Carolyn’s journey into organic agriculture began in 2014 while studying Sociology, Religious Studies, and Critical Theory at Macalester College. Volunteering at farms introduced her to the power of growing food as a means of fostering relationships, cultivating kindness, and restoring connections often lost in modern, industrialized societies.

Drawn by the countercultural values of real organic agriculture—stewardship, transparency, and the well-being of both people and planet—Carolyn spent nearly a decade working in farming and food justice initiatives. In 2021, she and her partner co-founded Good Neighbor Farm in Ann Arbor, Michigan, an ecological enterprise specializing in organic vegetables and direct community engagement. Carolyn’s work emphasizes sustainable practices, minimal tillage, and a commitment to local food systems. She delights in bringing people who have never farmed into the shared work of land and food, believing strongly in the role of agriculture for building resilient communities and bridging divides.

With the Real Organic Project, Carolyn coordinates inspections and supports farmers committed to regenerative practices, soil health, and holistic animal care, helping to distinguish authentic organic farming from practices that have drifted away from the movement’s roots. She is dedicated to upholding integrity within the organic label and ensuring the stories of real farmers are heard and celebrated.

Outside her professional life, Carolyn enjoys making pottery, growing flowers and vegetables, and spending time with friends, family, and her beloved dog. Deeply rooted in both land and community, Carolyn Wright embodies the Real Organic Project’s mission to honor farmers, the environment, and the essential connections built through good food and good stewardship.
