As part of the Temple of Understanding’s work, we engage with the questions of how to finance the changes needed to respond to the climate crisis. Our Director of Global Advocacy, Grove Harris, serves on the Climate Finance committee of the NGO Committee on Financing for Development. This session will focus on global finances, including how “true collective resilience—where communities can collectively adapt and cope with crises—depends on equitable access to essential public goods.”
Oxfam’s work on deepening financial inequality will be highlighted: “The world’s five richest men have more than doubled their fortunes from $405 billion (£321 billion) to $869 billion (£688 billion) since 2020, while the wealth of the poorest 60 percent – almost five billion people – has fallen,” a new Oxfam report on inequality and global corporate power has found.
