Nigeria: Adamawa Religious Leaders Parley On Peace, 24 June 2010
Yola — As part of efforts to ensure peaceful co-existence among Christians and Muslims, the Nigerian Inter Religious Council (NIREC) Adamawa State chapter yesterday started a meeting to discuss and find ways of improving peaceful co-existence among different religious adherents ahead of the 2011 general elections.
The state’s Co-Chairmen of NIREC, Alhaji Muhammadu Shu’aibu Girei and Prof. Dan Babayi said the meeting was held because of the various crises that had taken place in the North, especially Plateau, Bauchi and Borno States and also to discuss and find out ways to bring lasting solution to the prevailing crises plaguing the society.
