Its mission is to use performing arts and the dynamics of leadership training to develop and empower youth. Rooted in creative self expression, IRT is anchored by a commitment to Safe space, Outstanding effort and Service to the community (S.O.S.). Throughout its 15+ years, its members have performed at the Apollo Theatre and the Brooklyn Children’s Hospital’s “Healing Through Laughter” program, and appeared on CBS, Nickelodeon and in the HBO film, Disappearing Acts.

In 1968 through the guidance of Ram Das, Krishna Das met his teacher Neem Karoli Baba in India where his journey as a practitioner of Bhakti Yoga, the Yoga of devotion, deepened. In 1973 he returned to the US at the behest of his Guru to “sing to him from America.” A devoted student of Buddhist meditation practices, Krishna Das is traveled extensively throughout India.
