Meet our 2021 TOU interns! We are very pleased to welcome interns from around the world virtually this summer! During our first week, the TOU interns have been engaged in exploring the work of the Temple of Understanding and learning more about the United Nations as they begin to think about the topics they will be researching throughout the program. We are looking forward to participating in HLPF, hearing from speakers on numerous topics, experiencing religious site visits, and more over the next few weeks!
Jiaqing (Jason) Zeng, USA
My name is Jiaqing (Jason) Zeng, and I am entering my senior year at St. Paul’s School, NH. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and some other Chinese dialects, and I can read Latin, ancient Greek, and some Sanskrit. I am a big fan of collecting antiques, and recently, I started a project called Bridges Among Us, which I use primary sources from my collection, collaborating with museums and turning them into lesson plans for high school teachers to use. With my language abilities, I also translate manuscripts and interviews into English for more students to have access to topics that contribute to our global cultural diversity as a whole. At the Temple of Understanding, I am interested in topics related to interfaith education, international law and justice, ending poverty, and big data for sustainable development. I am also really excited to learn more about the UN and other international issues!
