Meet our 2021 TOU interns! We are very pleased to welcome interns from around the world virtually this summer! During our first week, the TOU interns have been engaged in exploring the work of the Temple of Understanding and learning more about the United Nations as they begin to think about the topics they will be researching throughout the program. We are looking forward to participating in HLPF, hearing from speakers on numerous topics, experiencing religious site visits, and more over the next few weeks!
Sophie Hart, USA

Hi! My name is Sophie Hart, and I am an 18-year-old rising sophomore at the University of Michigan where I hope to major in public policy and minor in business. I have lived in Michigan all my life except for a semester in Washington DC in high school where I was a United States Senate Page. I am looking forward to learning more about the UN and the Temple of Understanding and how these organizations are fighting for a better future. I am particularly interested in environmental policy, women’s rights, and education equality. I hope to gain knowledge on struggles throughout the world and how I can work to minimize those struggles as much as possible.
