Meet our 2021 TOU interns! We are very pleased to welcome interns from around the world virtually this summer! During our first week, the TOU interns have been engaged in exploring the work of the Temple of Understanding and learning more about the United Nations as they begin to think about the topics they will be researching throughout the program. We are looking forward to participating in HLPF, hearing from speakers on numerous topics, experiencing religious site visits, and more over the next few weeks!
Sude Kinik, Turkey

Greetings! My name is Sude Kınık, and I am a 20-year-old law student from Istanbul, Turkey. I am delighted to acquire the opportunity to spend my summer with Temple of Understanding as this is a programme I have been following ever since I was 15 years old. Both at the national and international level, I have been involved with various events and volunteer work regarding the promotion of rule of law, human rights, active citizenship, and democracy. Given my background as a Turkish young citizen, I am well aware of the vital importance of justice for everyone and inclusive societies through democratic literacy, and correct information of the public. I will have finished the 1st year of my bachelor’s degree in law, and I am particularly interested in international law, thus the working areas of the United Nations. At this internship, I believe I will meet diligent and inspirational young people from all over the world, and reflect the solidarity between nations as the UN itself does.
