Rev. James A. Lynch: Parliament of the World’s Religions

Rev. James A. Lynch stands at the forefront of interfaith engagement as a distinguished Dharma Teacher authorized by the lay Buddhist organization Rissho Kosei Kai. Serving as their official representative for outside affairs in New York City and as a representative to the United Nations, Rev. Lynch is dedicated to the promotion of peace, understanding, and mutual respect among diverse religious communities. His commitment is further evidenced by his leadership as Vice President—and former President—of the Buddhist Council of New York, an organization representing the vast and varied Buddhist communities of the Tri-State area.

Rev. Lynch’s influence extends far beyond his Buddhist affiliations. He is a Trustee for the Parliament of the World’s Religions and sits on the Board of Religions for Peace USA, the largest interfaith peace organization in America. He is also involved in the Heiwa Peace Foundation, a think tank dedicated to advancing peace initiatives in the United States and Asia. Throughout his career, he has been recognized as an inspirational collaborator and is known for his ability to bridge divides and foster authentic dialogue in complex environments.

Rev. Lynch brings a unique perspective rooted in both his spiritual heritage and his professional experience as a tenured professor and chairman of the Business Management Department at Brooklyn College, where he teaches workplace happiness and spirituality. Raised in a multi-faith family and deeply shaped by the rich traditions within his lineage, Rev.
