Hi everyone! I am Yaxuan Shi, and I just turned 18 this month. I was born and raised in Jinan, Shandong Province in China. Currently, I am a high school rising senior at Santa Catalina School in California.

I have always been passionate about the law and the difference between the Chinese legal system and the American legal system. However, after a summer program on International Human Rights, I fell in love with discovering human rights issues and advocating for social problems, especially women’s initiatives, equality in education, and gender inequality.

Recently, I did research on how small media, such as posters and stickers, influence the spread of feminism for teenagers. At the same time, I am going to participate in a summer camp for migrant children in China, and I am excited to see what I learn from that.
